Hi there! This script got me into the semi finalists for the Script2Comic contest in 2023 (yikes that was bit ago now.)

This is part of the prequel comic series to the other one I posted!

Mute: Assassin no more

Issue One

Page 1, Two Panels

Panel One:

Mute and Myra Angel are standing next to a trailer and truck, in front of the sidewalk looking at a kind of shitty apartment, the sidewalks look decently clean, it’s midday.

Myra: “I remember this being a little bit… nicer?”

Panel Two:

Mute is signing to Myra,

Mute: ‘I don’t.’

Narration: “This was exactly the way Mute remembered it but for a first apartment, she was thankful they had even gotten anything. All they had to go off of was Myra’s credit score. Mute didn’t really have any past work experience to go off of seeing that she was an ex assassin.

Panel Two:

Myra has her hands on her hips as mute’s facing her with a sheepish look on her face

Mute: ‘Ha- ha, whoops. Was I supposed to?’

Myra: “Come on Mute. We’re trying to live a normal life now. Well, you are more specifically. I just dabbled in organized crime knowledge beforehand. But we took down one of the most vicious assassin groups in North America. You said you wanted out of that life.”

Mute: ‘I know, I know.’

Myra: “You should’ve had a resume ready! And You should be going by your actual name. Not your assassin name.”

Mute: ‘Ew, daisy?’

Myra: “Yes, exactly. Daisy. You sound so much less like an assassin that way.”

Mute is pouting as Myra has a winning smile on her face.

Mute: ‘Fine, can I use your laptop?’

Myra: “Of course you can! I’ll help you put together a resume with your… Little… to no life experience.”

Barista one: “Forever a drink maker”

Barista three: “I… don’t think you should be making fun of her. And just because she can’t speak doesn’t mean she can’t hear.

Panel Two:

Mute looks angry as she’s filling up a cup.

Mute: ‘She’s right I can hear.’

Barista three: “Do better you two.”

Myra: “You gift cars to certain special buyers and you have a little bit of a collection yourself.”

Heidi: “I see that you did a little bit more homework than others.”

Myra: “I did. I also know that people have tried to say that you’re only buying them for status but I’ve seen some of your past purchases and that you may or may not have a membership with one of the raceways nearby under a different name.”

Panel Three:

Heidi’s eyebrows are arched, she’s actually shocked.

Heidi: “You… know your stuff huh?”

Myra: “I know how to know my stuff. I also can guess that you’re checking out this sedan to throw me off as you just sold a highrise to WJ enterprises which Wayne Jolly created about seven years ago and he’s finally a bigger player. And he wants a commanding presence.”

Some millionaire that didn’t want it publicized that he was going bankrupt. I can have that shipped over here before the ribbon cutting ceremony.”
